Oliver Grant is a trainee patent attorney in the Advanced Engineering group. He joined the firm and profession in 2025 following three years working in semiconductor abatement research and development. He has gained experience in patent drafting and prosecution before the EPO and UKIPO for a range of clients.
Education & background
Ollie studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Nottingham, graduating in 2022 with a first class Master’s degree. His final year research project looked at the effectiveness of catalysts in methanol synthesis.
After university, Ollie spent three years working as a development engineer at a semiconductor abatement company. In his role, Ollie researched and developed new solutions to help reduce hazardous gases and particulate emissions in exhaust gas flows. Ollie continues to utilise the chemical engineering knowledge he gained during his undergraduate degree and post university work to assist clients working in that space.
On a personal note…
Ollie particularly enjoys running and football. He is also a keen supporter of Queens Park Rangers, though enjoys this slightly less. Outside of sport, Ollie likes playing retro video games, where he can be found spending far too much of his free time looking for different coloured monsters.
