You are here: Home > About us > Environmental, Social & Governance

We believe that businesses have an ethical responsibility to reduce their impact on the environment and help society in the best way they can.

Aligned with our vision, values and core purpose of building trusting relationships, we’re continuing to drive our Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) approaches.

Prioritising our approach

At Withers & Rogers, we promise to take meaningful steps to reduce our impact on the environment and help society in the best ways we can, providing transparent KPIs and continually developing our ESG aims. With key focus areas for each segment, we are building a thorough and adaptable plan to make sure we are doing our part for the environment and for our communities.

Environmental

Our key focus areas for improving our environmental sustainability include reporting on, reducing and offsetting our carbon footprint.

By championing recycling initiatives, encouraging greener travel and maximising energy efficiency where possible, we will become an increasingly environmentally friendly business.

Staying completely transparent about our carbon usage will help us hold ourselves accountable.

Social

Our social focus will centre around building trusting relationships with our people and our clients.

We want our teams to be comfortable with bringing their full selves to work and contribute towards the strategic goal of attracting and retaining great people. By being collaborative, we will work together for the good of society and increase innovation and progress for our clients.

Governance

We take governance seriously, and the decisions we make are held to account by our strategic framework, encouraging a consistent approach across the business. Through engagement surveys, our established internal committees and measuring progress against our KPIs, we can make sure we’re continually developing and achieving our ESG vision.

Our commitments to date

We have implemented some key changes to help us along our ESG journey. These changes include:

  • “Lettuce know if you would like meat” campaign, where we only provide vegetarian catering unless we’re specifically asked for meat options.
  • We encourage the use of the “Ecosia” search engine across our organisation, which invests all of its profits on climate action.
  • We encourage colleagues across our organisation to use greener travel.
  • We offset our carbon using Gold standard offsets.

In addition, we have pledged to make continual improvements to our ESG approach.

We understand that this will be a continuous journey for our business, we are forever trying to improve ourselves and champion initiatives that aren’t just good for our organisation, but good for the world. We are committed to our pledge and will continue to broaden our commitment and focus on ESG both in the short and longer term.
