Jack is a Partner in the Advanced Engineering Group at Withers & Rogers. As one of the original members of the firm’s Munich office, he relocated there in 2017 and has played a key role in helping to grow the team to its current size.
Jack advises international clients on securing and enforcing UK and European patent rights. He has a strong focus on the automotive sector, working closely with global suppliers and spending around one month each year in Detroit to support clients and build strategic long‑term relationships.
Alongside his client work, Jack leads the firm’s internal packaging sector team, coordinating expertise across the firm to support clients in fresh food, industrial and consumer packaging. He also champions the adoption of tech-enabled working practices to support efficient and consistent delivery of the firm’s services to clients.
Jack works with clients ranging from multinational corporations to SMEs and individual inventors.
Education & background
Jack holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Newcastle University. He joined Withers & Rogers in 2012, qualifying as a UK Chartered Patent Attorney in 2016 and as a European Patent Attorney in 2017.
He is a registered representative before the Unified Patent Court (UPC), having been among the first UK‑born patent attorneys to register following its launch in 2023.
On a personal note
Outside work, Jack is a long‑suffering Newcastle United fan and enjoys hiking and skiing in the German and Austrian Alps, along with cooking and travel.
